So it’s pretty damn nifty that this guy managed to save so many pennies over the years (and even cooler that his bank didn’t give him grief when he went to cash them in), but could SOMEONE at the Washington Post please correct the headline?!!?!

I’m a huge baseball fan. I’ve loved it ever since I was a small child. I know there are some who might lump me in with the “purists“, but I don’t think that I am a purist. I didn’t mind when the realigned the leagues (except for the lopsided number of teams in each league) or the new playoff structure). That being said, I love the fact that, unlike some of the other major league sports (hockey being the worst offender), the rules of baseball don’t change all of the time. With a few minor exceptions, the rules that are in place now are the same ones that were in place when Honus Wagner played the gaem
BUT ….
This is digusting. I can’t even find the words to accurately describe how I feel about this. It just sickens me. These two cities should have their franchises revoked for pulling a stunt like this.
So I’m sitting around the house, not doing much of anything, watching Attack of the Show on the tech channel, not really paying attention. I caught a glimpse of this little web-based game that looked mildly interesting, but certainly not all that exciting. Since the computer was on, and right next to me, I decided to check it out. All I have to say is that this little gem is MADDENING!!!
I was doing my usual skim of stories at digg, and this one kind of jumped out at me. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not any sort of corporate cheerleader, but I think to argue that GMail’s “gobs of storage/never have to delete anything” service is some sort of sinister plot is a bit nutty. I don’t want to suggest that the author of the site is one of those tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy goofballs, but perhaps he needs to stop spending so much time on listening to conpsiracy-oriented radio. Or who knows, maybe he is onto something and I should stop using my GMail account.

OK, those of you who know me (well, at least some of you who know me) will be aware that my favourite cartoon of all-time (having surpassed The Flintstones) is Futurama (probably the favourite cartoon of many in the geek community – do geeks have a community?).
